Adult Psychiatric Services
Who can benefit from this program?
Adults over 18 years of age who require acute inpatient stabilization of their psychiatric disorder and critical impairments. Adult services programming has demonstrated effectiveness with the following:

Major affective disorder with manic or suicidal thoughts and behaviors

 

Dual Diagnosis concurrent substance and psychiatric occurrences

 

Mood disorders including depression and bipolar episodes

Thought disturbances including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders

 

Behavioral disturbances that impair social functioning

 


Program Description
Three separate levels of adult programming allow patients to enter treatment at appropriate treatment intensity and facilitate transition to higher functioning modalities.

Each level is based on a crisis intervention model to stabilize the patient's condition and transition to a less restrictive environment.

5150 designated staff and facilities provide a structured environment and patient safety.

Interdisciplinary treatment planning and therapeutic interventions address all aspects of the patient's disorder.

Emphasis on patient and family education helps develop more effective communication, interaction and problem solving.

Intensive treatment focus on medication compliance, affect management, conflict resolution, substance abuse relapse prevention and dual diagnosis education.

Psychiatrists with extensive experience.

Separate locked units for comprehensive assessment and rapid stabilization.

Intensive focus on discharge planning initiated at time of admission
